He arrived at Daegwang town in Jooam providence, the city of Suncheon which produces the wild tea, with his staff at five o’clock in the afternoon on the 18th. He learned the double roasting process thoroughly in about three hours (it is a tea leaves heating process) from Park Dong Choon (55), the director of East Asia Tea Culture Lab, after he picked wild tea leaves.
He was wearing Jeans and a black jacket. He shook hands with the staff of Suncheon News and well-known figures of the Suncheon area. He said, “It’s the first time I have visited Suncheon, but I have a good impression of Suncheon through various channels.”, and “Especially, I know well about Suncheon through Gosireh Kimchee of Suncheon Agriculture Cooperative Federation.”
From the beginning to the end, he talked softly and humbly with a smile, and regretted by saying, “I contacted the city of Suncheon last year in regards to the ECO-farm which I have projected for a long time, but I couldn’t succeed in it yet.”
He is working on his own project to introduce the excellence of the Korean traditional cultures like the teas, kimchees, etc. He learned the process from the director Park Dong Choon, who succeeded the tea making process of the priest Choeui (suehan: 草衣禪師 1786 1866) of the Korean tea tradition, by the picking of tea leaves which grew naturally in the wild bamboo field to their roasting in the iron kettle which was heated by the wood fire for about two hours without any movement.
He sat down face to face with the director Park on the cooking fireplace, smelled the scent from the roasting tea leaves, and watched the changing process of the amount of moisture in the tea leaves by the adjustment of heat. He also learned the manufacturing process and differences between the Korean teas, the Chinese teas, and Japanese teas and tried to make it by himself.

It was past five o’clock in the evening. It’s set in the warm and cozy evening. It was hot in the afternoon. Bae Yong Joon arrived in his Land Rover with his staff when the sun was still in the sky, and it was a peaceful evening.
Bae Yong Joon strode and stepped in the front yard of the house that had a wild tea field. He was wearing jeans, sunglasses, a black hat and jacket, and he was carrying a camera which had a long telephoto lens on his shoulder. It was hard to see his eyes from the outside because he was wearing glasses, but he has black, beautiful, and neat eyes.
Bae Yong Joon shook hands with people in the front yard, went to the bamboo fields in the back and came back. Woman picking tea leaves said that they couldn’t pick the leaves any more because the sun had set, so they sat down on the floor in groups of twos and threes, and started to separate the good ones (suehan: from the batch).

We also recorded his every movement in the camera earnestly. But Bae Yong Joon’s staff requested from us not to report until a certain time. We hesitated until the last minute, but we decided to accept their proposal.
Around five thirty, the roasting work started. It was the roasting process in which the iron kettle hung in the firepot. The director Park opened the lid, held the iron pot in an embracing manner, stirred and roasted the tea leaves with her two arms without stopping. Her face was warmed by the fire. It looked like that she had fair skin from the heat of the tea leaves.
Around six o’clock, the second roasting in the kettle started, Bae Yong Joon sat down across the director Park.
Mr. Yi, who has worked with the director for 27 years, handled the adjustment of the fire. It’s said that there is a master drummer where a master singer is. The adjustment of the fire is a requisite for the Park’s roasting process, and his timing with her is exquisite. The director Park moved her hand to roast the tea leaves without stopping and Bae Yong Joon next to her smelled the scent and put his hand in the iron pot. He admired by saying, “It’s like magic.”
The director Park asked, “Can’t you feel the scent and five tastes of the tea are getting heavier?”, and he responded like an expert by saying, “It looks like that it’s is deep and getting balanced.”

Finally, at 6:16 pm, the first tea of this year was born. The director Park kept roasting the tea leaves while they were drinking a cup of tea with cheers.
Bae Yong Joon said, “It looks like it must be done at once quickly. Making pottery also needs to be lift up at once to make it right. The more touches, the worse the product. (This evening), the time has gone by so fast.” And the director Park said, “The changes of heat (suehan: temperature) must be sensed. It’s possible when you don’t have any other thought in your head. Every body calls it “the highest level of meditation”.
Taangbeob (suehan: 湯法?) is when the tea taste is extracted 100 percent. I kept using this traditional technique. Because I want to do it under the same circumstances to study the virtuous men’s techniques. I might get close to the original and tea world through this method.”
Bae Yong Joon said, “If I pay lots of money, I can buy the Chinese tea (best quality), but no matter how much I pay, I can’t buy the (best quality) Korean tea. I hope you set up a tea manufacturing school.”, and she responded by saying, “It will be set up naturally when the time comes. I’m waiting for that. Philosophical noblemen from our ancestors made teas. Not laborers. Ones who have reached the highest level of meditation made teas. Making teas was self-discipline.”
Their friendly conversation didn’t end even though the evening had approached. At 7:00 pm, a marten, it seemed like it was missing its mate, was crying in the bamboo field.
The director Park said, “This scent only comes from Korean tea. We can’t have such scent from the steamed tea leaves.”, and Bae Yong Joon said, “The Japanese tea leaves are steamed.”
Bae Yong Joon put his bare hand into the iron pot and said, “I can feel the moisture without touching the leaves.”, and the director Park responded, “That’s why I roast them without wearing gloves.”
She still needed to roast three kettles even though this took a while. It was 7:30 pm; one hour and thirty minutes had passed since Bae Yong Joon sat on the cooking fire place.
Bae looked at the inside of the firepot for a while and watched the director Park roasting the tea leaves. It was 8:00 pm when the first tea making process was completed.
The buffet, which included pork, rice and soy bean soup, was ready in the front yard at night. Everyone was eating, but not Bae Yong Joon.
I had a conversation with him about the farm and city of Suncheon. He expressed his big interest on the perfect ECO-farm. He also talked about Gosireh Kimchee which has been produced by Suncheon Agriculture Cooperative Federation; Gosireh Kimchee is his brand and is becoming popular in Japan.
He talked about the episode in which he had contacted the city of Suncheon to progress the discussion. Shortly, he sat down on the floor and had a soy bean soup with rice and mushroom in a small soup bowl.

On the 2nd of April, the drama production company ‘Holim’, which was founded by Keyeast and JYP Entertainment, signed MOU with CJ Media to co-produce ‘Dream High’.
‘Dream High’ is a school drama which describes the stories of students who are growing with the happenings and hardships of art school. It’ll be showing songs, dances, acting, and the real aspects of the domestic entertainment industry.
Bae Yong Joon of Keyeast will participate in the overall making and planning of the drama. Park Jin Young of JYP Entertainment will participate in the sound source of the drama and dance producing works. It’s known that Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young are considering to appear in the drama.
Kim Tae Won, the drama director of CJ Media, said, “We have watched the pre-production works and its smooth preparation. It made us decide to join the production.”, and “Right now, the importance of the contents is getting higher every day. We expect ‘Dream High’ to be a good example of new ‘One Source Multi-Use’ of Asia not only over the original source of the drama, but over the limitation of the added contents value.
‘Dream High’ will be filmed after selecting the actors/actresses through an audition. The drama will be shown in the later part of this year.

Actresses, Lee Na Young, Choi Gang Hee, and Lee Ji Ah renewed their exclusive contracts with their agent, Keyeast.
On the 12th of April, Keyeast said that they resigned contracts with three actresses and are looking for new endeavors.
Lee Na Young worked with Keyeast for four years, and Choi Gang hee and Lee Ji Ah worked for three years each.
Yang Geun Hwan, CEO of Keyeast, sent his gratitude to them by saying, “The result was satisfactory during the contract period in this difficult situation. The actors/actress have worked hard and approached the result of those contracts with understanding.”

‘Park BOF Seoul’, the space where Yonsama Bae Yong Joon’s families gather, reborn as ‘Café Artienue’, and opened on the lobby of 9th Avenue in Guro outlet mall on the 26th of March.
The store consists of two departments, a gallery and café. In the gallery, there are lots of Hallyu stars’ collections including Yonsama’s like the customs which he wore for the events in Japan, his favorite pieces that were brought from his house. and the items which make us close to him.
Unfortunately, the photo shoots are prohibited in the gallery, but there is a photo zone where the fans can take composition pictures with Yonsama and even famous snowmen from the drama ‘Winter Sonata’ are displayed.
Speaking of ‘Winter Sonata’, its animation became a topic in Japan, and the necklace which Yujin (Choi Jiwoo) wears in the live action scene of the animation and Yonsama’s birth stone are on sale.
In the café, where it gives the characteristics of the Koreans, the original products of ‘Café Artienue’ and its souvenirs including Korean traditional teas, glasses, cups, etc. are also on sale.

YJ visited a sashimi restaurant in Busan.

Before I introduce this posting, I want to refresh your memory. Do you remember my previous posting about his new Ferrari? Yeah. He bought a new Ferrari 599 and he was spotted with his Ferrari at a few places in Korea. A while ago, I went to Busan with my big brother for 2 nights 1 day, just the two of us. It was a unique and fun trip even though only two men went there for 2 nights 1 day. We had our first meal at the sashimi restaurant when we arrived in Busan.
We rode a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano to go to Busan.
My big brother, who accompanied me, bought this car a while ago and I rode in it about 5 or 6 times. Whenever I rode in that car, I could feel its amazing acceleration, stabilized cornering, and comfortable riding. Even I hated to get off.. haha. (I will talk about the detailed riding story next time..)

The sliced raw fish was cut into thick pieces. Almost as thick as beef slices.
Put a piece of the sliced raw fish in a sesame leaf and seaweed.
Another piece with leaf mustard kimchee
In a single piece wrapped with seaweed. It looked like they were using fresh fish because of the thickness of the sliced raw fish and flavor. I really want to come back here.
Radish, boiled in a soy sauce with spices, stimulated our appetite for rice.
Soothing spicy seafood stew
There are many solid ingredients and one whole stingfish
Rice cooked in the pot.
We had roasted rice.
They even served us roasted rice for free.
Please visit them when you feel like eating a spicy seafood stew in Busan. The soup was an art. It is located in the entrance of Mapo Dock.
